Executive Director/Webmaster's Bio

Gynii Gilliam graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and from the University of  California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.

She worked as a consultant in sociology, economics, community planning, and business management for several years. Shortly after her second son was born, she switched professions, opening a floral, gift and interior decorating business in Challis, Idaho. She sold that business five years ago to spend more time with her boys.

Her interest in the arts and community service date back to childhood and follows her where ever she goes. She's been actively involved with the Challis Arts Council & Chamber of Commerce, along with other local community service organizations since she moved to Challis in 1982. Within the last six years, she's also been involved with regional and statewide rural economic development programs.

Gynii loves gardening, photography and traveling. She and her husband, Tony, have two sons. Jonathan is an Architecture student at the University of Southern California; and Michael is a junior at Challis High School.
