Idaho Art Net offers one of the lowest fee structures in the industry. We found a few web-based
galleries that offer free listings, but charge 40% of sales; or lower
listing rates, but with no ecommerce options or resources for artists and
web site visitors. We also found some excellent web-based galleries that have
wonderful market coverage, but they charge $1700 for a six month listing.

 |
Your biography |
 |
Your artist statement |
 |
Your price list for the submitted works |
 |
A brief description of each work, if applicable |
 |
Please send a photo of yourself - don't worry we won't use it to judge whether

 |

|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Submitting in Digital Format
Idaho Art Net can provide this service, just keep in mind that we charge
set-up fees to convert your work into digital format. Check other options as
described below.
We have member artists that are able to scan and covert your work into
digital images. Please contact us at artist@idahoartnet.com
for a listing.
Kinko's, Office
Max and any of the other larger office supply centers also offer these services.
Check the Yellow Pages for other options.
Ask for JPEG format, highest-quality
compression setting, resolution at 72 pixels-per-inch, and approximately 8X10's.
We will edit the size to fit our format for portfolio pages. Please send us your
digital images and text via email or mail us a CD with your information.
If you have some experience, the hardware, and imaging software necessary
(such as Adobe Photoshop), you can scan the relevant area of your slide to
arrive at 72 pixels-per-inch at 8 inches wide. Set your scanning resolution
to 420ppi for a landscape format 35mm slide and at 660ppi in portrait
format. This resolution will allow your image to be viewed enlarged in a
browser window without sacrificing quality.
Image duplicating. The 72 dpi low resolution protects you. It looks good on the
website, but does not print well enough for commercial purposes. It is blurry and
pixilated.
You will need
Email Access or Phone us regularly
You don't need to own a computer, but you do need access to an email address that
you can check daily or at the very least 2X a week. In order to minimize membership
costs, Idaho Art Net will conduct most communications via email.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Showing in other galleries (brick and mortar or web-based)
We don't require exclusive representation rights, but you must inform us
when a work is no longer available for sale or if your work is on loan at an
exhibit. This way we avoid selling an already-sold item, and we are able to notify
customers that delivery may exceed our standard shipping period. Please check with
the other galleries and other Internet-based galleries to make sure they do not
have exclusive representation rights. If you signed an exclusive representation
contract, check your agreement to see if you are able to exhibit different works
with Idaho Art Net.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I already have a website
If you already have your own website, then you understand the opportunities of
displaying on the Internet and the work that goes into having a website.
Participating with Idaho Art Net, means your work is seen by more. Our charges are
quite minimal for the additional exposure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Non-Idaho resident Artists
We welcome non-Idaho resident artists. Although our focus is on Idaho artisans, we
understand the benefits of expanding our membership list to include artists from
other states. We know that expanding our membership means expanding our
market coverage to new locations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting paid for work sold through idahoartnet.com
Idaho Art Net will make payments at the end of each calendar month for any works
sold before the 15th of each month. For items sold after the 15th of each month,
artists will be paid in the next month's cycle. Please note that we have to allow
for return times. Sold means the order is complete and that the grace period for
returns has expired. We will try to implement a direct deposit program as soon as
possible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inviting people to view my portfolio page or my work
You can send an e-Card or send a link to your website. All of these resources are
self-explanatory on the web pages. If you need help, please contact us at
artists@idahoartnet.com. You can post announcements of your exhibit as well as
your attendance at upcoming art shows using e-cards and the online bulletin board.
If you let us know ahead of time, we will include in our monthly newsletter a
listing of member artists attending particular art shows in Idaho.
If you're aware of good locations to exhibit artwork, please share that information
with other artists. Email the information to us at
artists@idahoartnet.com, as well
as post it on the bulletin board.
