Boise: Idaho Woodcarvers Guild Competition and Exhibition

Established in 1989. Annual competition and exhibition features wood arts and crafts with competition in woodcarving, woodturning, woodburning, marquetry, intarsia and fine woodworking. Demonstrations and sales. Admission fee for the event, $3 per person.

Nampa: Nampa Art Guild Spring Member Show
Annual: End of March, early April
Established in 1963. Annual Spring Membership Show. Open to members of the Nampa Art Guild who have paid dues. The Guild will display 2 and 3 dimensional fine artworks at the Nampa Civic Center. Awards: Best of Show, Judges Choice, and Virginia Johnson Peoples Choice awards as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons. Beginner, Intermediate I and II, Advanced and Classwork/Reproduction divisions. People's Choice ribbon awarded daily. Each member is allowed up to two entries. There is no entry fee.

Established in 1998. Annual Chef competition of the "Best" in each category: Hot Appetizer, Cold Appetizer, International Dishes, Desert, Red Wine, White Wine, Blush, Sparkling Wine. Event includes collectors wine glass or mini beer stein. Live entertainment. Silent Auction.

Sandpoint: The Annual Lost Horse Writers' Conference
Annual: April
Established in 2001. Writers' conference with workshops in the following areas: Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, Screenwriting, Humor Writing, Magic Realism, Movement and Text, and Children's Literature. Additional workshops in Classical Guitar, Jazz Bass Workshop and a Children's Writing Program may be available. Public readings by featured writers and poets will take place on the evenings, along with book signings and panel discussions by authors, publishers, and literary agents.
